Great little indie game! Casual strategy and just keeps getting better as newer updates are released with more gameplay content. Would recommend.. I really love this game. The first Dungelot was one of my all time favorite games, and this one is an evolution from the first in every conceivable way. Also, I just negotiated a contract between the farmers and a scarecrow worker's union on a wildcat strike; yeah that actually happens, and it's awesome!. Is not aike mineswaper , there is no mineswaper logic in it , all you do every turn is selecting random tile and hope you will find the key to next floor. A very fun addictive game. You can save your progress in a dungeon which is great. An easy game to pull up quick if you have a couple minutes to game but can't sit down for a full play session. Some of the reviews stated they don't get a minecraft feel. Although not exactly like minecraft, I definitely get a little feel for it.. Easy game for unwinding. Amusing and cheerful art style reminiscent of Plants vs Zombies (The zombies tell you they hate plants!). Kill such monsters as you need to, find the key, progress to the next level of the dungeon. Improved equipment to unlock, hp and dam blessings from the Goddess, and a Mansion with bonuses buyable for coins collected. A few too many clicks to access inventory, and unnecessary delays between crafting which may annoy. Needs a bit of inventory management and thoughtful sequential loot collection espesh in the beginning when you have only 4 slots.Tips: - Play through with one character to unlock all bonuses, which are then available to all other chars.- Easy to get 100% achievements, but make sure you do not complete the relevant Act with all characters if you are short of your 30 Liches (Zombie Cow lair, give up on L29, rinse and repeat) or you will have to start a new game and farm 30 from the beginning with none of your previously earnt bonuses- Buy your improved bombs and chance for an extra crafting item from the Mansion asap!. nice little rogue like. Simple, but very addictive game. Like it so far. Seems that there's lots of things to explore.. A Study in Masking a War of Attrition and Time Investment as a Strategic Game: My Review of DungelotSigh.... I thought I would like this game based on the places/implications/strategies my head dreamed up when I read the premise paired with the numerous positve reviews boasting stategic gameplay and underlying systems that were waiting to be discovered.Eventually I work up my confidence and decide to make my love of Dungelot a reality. So.....I called up Dungelot and we plan on haivng a little get together for some Minesweeper/Rouglike/Strategizing and we set out to meetup. Here's a breakdown of what happened that fateful night....1) So for the first few dungeons I thought it was a good start but could not wait for some of the deeper underlying mechanics to spring forth. Sure Dungelot isn't here just yet but I have only just arrived right?2) Several dungeons later I am looking at my watch and messages to make sure I am in the right meeting spot and that Dungelot knows to meet me here for strategy. Check and check and I am little concerned now as it is strange of Dungelot to be running so late.3) A few more hours after that I realized I have been stood up and sent on a blinddate with a facebook game from browsertown hell bent on killing time and wasting lives. Desperate now I search and search but the game I wanted never existed and I realize I have been Bamboozled. Hope is lost. Despair. End Scene.So I really wish there more to this game but the gameplay breaks down as this....1. Choose Character and Basic Unintersting Stats and Skillsets2. Enter Dungeon3. Click on Blocks4. Choose From Uninteresting Skills or Click on Monsters to Advance5. Choose between One-Dimensional Stats to Improve6. Risk Easily Acquired Gold to Improve Further7. Improve without effortNumero 7 is the issue for me....this is really just a time waster without much depth behind it. A shame as I feel as if there are numerous intersting mechanics that are dying to be applied here. Success! A CASUAL game is the most accurate description of this title if you want to place genre (that's not a genre? well it is now). If you want more of a game than farmville I would sugest you casually walk on past because there is nothing to get excited about here.. Strategy-puzzle (vaguely like Minesweeper) roguelike with some permanent progression elements in the form of health/attack/spells, etc. It's got classic RPG flavor with a neat style wrapped around it.One play through of the 4 available characters (that you will unlock as you progress) took me 10 hours to complete while the game had my full attention with very few deaths; what I'm trying to say is the amount of content in this game is surprising. I'm still interested in going back and seeing how the other 3 characters play as well.For $8.50 it's a good deal, hell I'd have been happy to pay twice as much for a game like this.
